Bloodwood is part of the Mulberry family and offers an exceedingly fine and smooth texture.

Bloodwood ranges in colour from a deep crimson rose colour to a pinkish red and will age to a deep, dark red.

Bloodwood is a dense hardwood and is rated 2900 on the Janka scale. The wood has excellent decay resistance to both rot and insects such as termites.
